Thwarted by weather when we attempted this hiking event last year, our fearless hike leader Polly has decided to give it another go. It is a good choice for these summer months as the tunnels can be quite cool. Join us for a walk along the gorgeous Old Fukuchiyama Railway Trail. The trail is suitable for all ability levels, so no worries if your exercise efforts have been curtailed by the pandemic this past year. Take this opportunity to get moving, and become invigorated and refreshed by nature.
The trail is about 6 km long and takes 2-3 hours to walk. Wear sturdy shoes/boots, and be sure to bring enough water to stay hydrated in the heat. The tunnels (6 in all) will be cooler (a light sweater may be needed) and dark (a flashlight or headlight will come in handy). We'll probably stop for a quick lunch, so bring your favorite bento or easy snacks.
