Cycling in Nara

FEW Kansai's cycling event in Otsu was such a success that we have decided to do it again--only this time in Nara. Spring should be in full swing by then (we may even be lucky enough to catch the sakura trees in bloom!), and Nara's history is always on stunning display. So novice or pro, bike owner or no, you are welcome to join us as we take in the sights of this famous Japanese city. We will ride on bike paths for the most part and try to avoid busy roads, although we may have to ride on a few roads with traffic. The general route for the trip can be accessed here.
We will meet at Kintetsu Yamato-Saidaiji Station in Nara (detailed instructions and a map will be provided in the registration email) and then proceed to the bicycle-rental shop, where we have reserved ten pedal-assist e-bikes. The bicycle-rental fee is ¥1,200 (helmets not included). You may bring your own bike if you wish; however, it must be carried in a bag on the train.

Please register by midnight, April 9, and be sure to indicate on the registration form if you will rent a bike or bring your own.
